IKEA is looking for our Digital stars of tomorrow! Do you want to kick-start your career and join our Thesis Program in Group Digital, INGKA Group? We are super excited to start the Thesis programme for the second time around and to bring in students to do your thesis with us! The start date of the internship will be mid-January 2024.

We are looking for you who is currently a student at the university or any similar higher education within digital and are about to write your thesis spring of 2024. You need to be a Swedish resident and connected to a university in the country. You are excited about new technology, and innovative ways of working and want to be part of shaping the future of IKEA!

The thesis is based in Malmö, Sweden. We need you to be able to commute to the office at least 50% of the time (primarily living in the Skåne Area). For FAQ and more information please visit https://join.ingka.com/student.

The Assignments:

Assignment 1.
AI-Driven Predictive Event Orchestration for Scalable Data Pipelines" - 2 Students

Join the Customer Order 360 team that’s building the single source of truth for customer orders globally.

Investigate the integration of LLMs and AI algorithms into event-driven systems to predict and automate event orchestration. Explore how machine learning can optimize the routing and processing of events in real-time, leading to more efficient and self-optimizing data pipelines.

Assignment 2
atm: Engineering - Master/bachelor thesis - Using AI to create lists. - 2 students

You will be working with the Favourites team that is in charge of the Favourites front end on ikea.com.

Background: Artificial intelligence has been making strides during the last couple of years and is a powerful tool that could for example help our users make decisions without having to scroll through thousands of articles, thus making the shopping journey way easier and the experience better overall.

The goal of this thesis is to investigate/evaluate the use of AI together with lists. Provide at least a working POC that’s backed by scientific data and analysis. We believe that you are currently in a computer science programme or similar with a passion for web development & an interest in AI.
